Let’s talk BRUSH DUPES! Jessup Brushes

SONY DSC

So in my previous post I talked about the Real Technique brushes that I had bought off of eBay that frankly I feel are just as good as the real thing, and today I am coming at you with another dupe I’ve found on eBay that isn’t as good as the RT brushes but I feel if you are looking for cheap brushes for a banging price, these will most definitely hit the spot. I am talking about Jessup brushes, now these brushes can be purchased off of eBay and ill leave the seller I have purchased from down below. Now let me tell you ladies their face brushes are good! They are actually really good, if you are looking for an inexpensive foundation and concealer brush I could not recommend that you check out Jessup more, their brushes are soft and I have found that I have had none to minimal shedding. Which for the price you pay, is pretty astonishing, now when they first arrive they do have a factory smell, but I found that the smell went away immediately after I washed them.

  • Face brushes- B
  • Shipping does take awhile, I mean its coming from China.

Now their eye brushes if you are new to makeup and you don’t have any brushes I would go for them they are decent, but not near as good as their face brushes. If you have a lot of eye brushes already you might be like me and find that you never reach for the subpar Jessup eye brushes.

  • Eye Brushes- C-, these brushes are subpar, good for beginners, just starting out and looking for some good cheap brushes.

The following is the URL of the eBay seller I use for all of my Jessup Brush needs!

MAKEUP BRUSHES FOR LESS! DUPES

image

Now I have made it my duty in life (apparently) to own as many makeup brushes as possible. I own far too many and I don’t even use half of them. But the good thing about owning so many of them is that I can give you the low down on what I think is worth it and what I think you can pass on. So let me give you the low down on brands. At least the ones that I own.

Sigma- I used to think they were the best thing since sliced bread, which is why I shelled out big bucks for their brushes, but let me tell you. A few years into owning their brushes they began to fall apart. the handles fell off of almost every single big brush I owned from sigma, and even though I loved the brushes for the amount of money I paid for the brushes their is no excuse for them to be falling apart like that. I will say this about sigma though, every time one of their brushes began to fall apart, I emailed sigma and told them about the problems I was having, and they sent me a replacement brush. So if you have to buy sigma go for the eye brushes they are great quality and I have had great luck with mine, no shedding, and no detaching of the handles. So my final thoughts on sigma.

  • A+ for customer service
  • C- for quality, their brushes should not have fallen apart for the price I paid for them

Morphe- There has been a lot of buzz about Morphe lately and I want to set the record straight on my feelings on the company. Morphe although everyone on YouTube says it is as good as Sigma I would have to agree and disagree. I having purchased only eye brushes so I cannot speak on how good or bad their face brushes are but I would have to say that some of their eye brushes are scratchy. This I found was true with the M503, I found it was very scratchy. But the MB brushes I have found are actually quite nice. I really like their gun medal line as well. I would say skip the flawless collection having bought a couple of those and I found them quite scratchy. I also bought the M165 and M204 and never find myself reaching for them so I say pass on them as well because they are pretty cheaply made.

  • B- Customer service shipping takes awhile
  • C Brushes are a hit or miss

Real Techniques- Now here lies my secrets, now ladies you can’t go telling everyone I told you about this. But you can find real technique brushes on eBay, for a fraction of the price, yes you read that right, a fraction of the cost! Now yes, they wont say real techniques on them but they are they same exact brushes and they I have found are the same exact quality. The brushes I have bought have held up great, and I can’t even tell the difference between the dupes and my real RT’s. I will paste a URL to the seller I buy from on eBay in case you are interested in buying and don’t know who to buy from. But back to quality, my RT have great quality, and yes they lack eye brushes but I don’t need any of those. But for face brushes these are my go to!

  • A- Great quality

Elf- Oh elf you have my heart, I have been a lover, a hater of elf and pretty much everything in between. So what do I think of elf brushes, I think the one dollar line is crap, stay away! But I think the studio line for the most part has some real hidden gems! My favorite being their crease brush, eyebrow duo brush, small tapered brush their new blending brush and their ultimate blending brush. So if you’re looking into Elf skip the one dollar and stick to the studio line.

  • A+ They replace all broken products received in the mail no questions asked
  • C- The one dollar line is no good.

Bdellium tools- I LOVE these brushes, true I only own three but for the price they are great brushes! I would defiently recommend you check out the 773 (a complete dupe for the mac 242) and the 783. They are great quality with no shedding!

A- Great quality! I’m super impressed with these brushes!

Catch you next time where I tell you which brushes I feel are the absolute essentials!

The Chocolate Touch

The Chocolate Touch.

First, let me explain my absence, I am so sorry I have been gone! School had gotten the best of me and I needed a break, but I’m back and I’m in full force!

So let’s talk chocolate, let me start off by saying that with these palettes I like one more than the other, so I don’t think you need both! I have both only to help you ladies figure out which one is the best of the best! So let us get down to business, the palette that in my opinion is better is the first. I believe it is better due to the fact that when I swatch the palettes side by side as you will see down below the original palette swatches better, and it blends a little better on the eyes. But I will admit I like the colors in the second palette more than I like the colors in the first palette. These palettes retail for 49.00 at Ulta and Sephora, and I believe that is a good deal for what you are getting. You are getting 16 eyeshadows, two of which are larger for your highlight which I believe is a genius idea since we use those shades everyday.

As you can see there are a couple colors in both that don’t swatch the best, but in my personal opinion I would go with the original. It’s beautiful, and the colors allow for a multitude of looks. Also the palettes smell like chocolate, which is a definite plus so that puts these palettes above all my other palettes due to pigmentation, blend-ability and color selection!
